(Don’t order the crème brûlée, it was cold every time) - shuttle service to airport - heating the pools … Improvements - more water refill stations - better trained wait staff in restaurants - the bar food inside is low quality with little flavor / the restaurant at the resort had some good plates and some that left a lot to be desired. The food was disappointing, we received $50 towards meals through Costco at the resort and after our first meal we felt that if it were not for the rebate we would of chose to eat at other places on the island. We visited every day and compared to every other shop we visited had everything we needed or wanted. The gift shop and the coffee shop was one of our favorite places. The couples massage was wonderful and great customer service. This room was clean and much better although it was an updated room it still needed work. (Paint was peeling off the walls, dirty, vents were covered in dust and build up) We did ask to change rooms and were given one available. Upon arrival to our resort we were given a room that was severely neglected. Our transfer from the airport was wonderful 100%. Great pools, amazing food, free bikes and its actually a resort vs the Kauai beach resort is apartments that are privately owned and managed by the hotel. 100% recomend spending the extra money and going to the Grand Hyatt instead. We actually spent more time at Kauai: Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort. Please note that we did eventually find each of the resorts that Costco offers during our stay and would say this is better than most. We picked the Kauai Beach resort for three reasons, close to the airport, pools and the ratings. Shutters has nightly entertainment and a happy hour. We had lunch from the pool bar once and it was just average. The lifeguard said they have new chairs on order. We always managed to find pools chairs but they are scarce. We tried several breakfast options and they were all great with huge portions in hindsight we should have shared most items. Most of the staff we encountered were very friendly. We never had issues finding a parking spot. The "deluxe" rooms are renovated so make sure not to book the non-renovated standard rooms. We had a mountain/garden view room in building 1 which I believe is the only building that doesn't adjoin a parking lot. We encountered none of the issues mentioned in other negative reviews.no bugs, no damp moldy smells, no construction. It's not the newest and poshest resort we've enjoyed but at 1/3 to 1/2 the price of other resorts we considered we felt it was a great value. The resort grounds are beautiful and close to the airport without any noise from the planes.
